NBR Dia. 21 LNER Dia. 33B brake van (narrow planked) (Kit Ref 9106)

The prototype

This kit is for the rebuilt version of the original Holmes design of 1890 (kit 9105), with the broad planking replaced by standard width narrow planking. In addition to those retaining the clasp brakes, many were built with single push-on brakes with the tare weight reduced to 10.0.0. Optional parts are included to allow for either type. With 40 surviving to the 1940 LNER census, only 2 were left by 1947. It is unlikely that any made it into nationalisation.
